Samsung phones depreciate differently to iPhones, so they need a different kind of valuation. The Ultra line and the foldables behave a bit like Apple's Pro models — strong demand, slow drop in resale price. Mid-range A-series handsets move faster and need a sharper grading pass. Either way, the team at our St Helens counter will run through the panel, the battery and the lock status with you before quoting.
Find us on the buying counter at 41 Church Street, WA10 1AX. Bring the original S Pen if it's an Ultra or Note, the box and charger if you still have them, and any spare cases — small extras can shift a Galaxy offer noticeably.

What reduces Samsung resale value
Samsung pricing is more sensitive to display and hinge condition than iPhone pricing — partly because Galaxy AMOLED panels are expensive to replace, and partly because foldable mechanisms are a known weak point on the second-hand market. The factors we look at hardest:
- AMOLED burn-in — faint shadows of the navigation bar or status icons drag the offer down because the panel can't be 'cleaned' without replacement.
- Green-line faults — a single vertical green or pink line means a panel swap, and on Ultra models that's one of the costliest repairs out there.
- Battery swelling — the back glass starts lifting around the edges; common on older Galaxies and a refurbisher cost we have to factor in.
- Foldable hinge wear — Z Flip and Z Fold devices are graded on hinge stiffness, the inner display crease and any debris under the inner panel.
- S Pen status — for Note and S Ultra models, a missing or non-tracking S Pen costs more than people expect, because Samsung sells them as a paired accessory.
- Aftermarket repairs — non-genuine screens or boards reduce the offer; original Samsung parts always price higher.

How the appraisal works
Step 1
Send the details
WhatsApp the Galaxy model and storage — for foldables, mention hinge feel and any inner-screen marks.
Step 2
Bring it to the counter
Walk into Cash Generator on Church Street any time Mon–Sat — no appointment, no online forms.
Step 3
Settle up the same visit
We talk you through the grading, agree the price, and pay by cash or instant transfer.
Selling locally vs posting it away
- Hinge and AMOLED checks done in front of you — the two things courier trade-ins downgrade hardest after they receive the phone
- Real grading conversation, not a tick-box web form
- Funds the same visit by cash or instant bank transfer — no waiting for a 'condition revision' email
- Every Galaxy model considered, working or faulty — Ultra, A-series, Z Fold, Z Flip, Note, older J/M series
- CheckMEND verification on every device, kept on file for your records
- Local team based on Church Street, with sister stores across St Helens and Birkenhead
