Sell Your Samsung Galaxy S24
The Galaxy S24 launched in January 2024 as Samsung's compact flagship and the first to debut Galaxy AI features (Circle to Search, Live Translate, Note Assist). It remains one of the most actively traded Galaxy models on the second-hand market.
Tell us the model, storage and condition. Final offers depend on inspection and testing.
Identify your Galaxy S24
The S24 has a flat 6.2-inch FHD+ AMOLED display, a flat aluminium frame and a triple rear camera with individual lens rings — visually similar to the S23 but with squared-off corners. Settings → About phone shows 'Galaxy S24' and the model number.
- Display: 6.2-inch FHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X, 120Hz
- Frame: flat-edge aluminium (Armor Aluminum)
- Rear cameras: 50MP main + 12MP ultrawide + 10MP 3× telephoto in individual lens rings
- Chipset (UK): Exynos 2400 in most European/UK units; Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for Galaxy in some markets — confirm via About phone
- Connector: USB-C
- Original colours: Onyx Black, Marble Grey, Cobalt Violet, Amber Yellow, plus online exclusives
Storage variants accepted
Three storage tiers, 8GB RAM across the line. 256GB is the sweet spot for second-hand demand.
Where the Galaxy S24 sits in its generation
Entry into the S24 family alongside the S24+ and S24 Ultra. The S24 was the headline launch for Galaxy AI, and Samsung committed to seven years of OS and security updates for the line — a strong factor in resale longevity.
How the Galaxy S24 compares to neighbouring models
Versus the S24+: identical chip and cameras, smaller display, FHD+ (vs QHD+), smaller battery. Versus the S24 Ultra: no S Pen, no titanium frame, no 5× telephoto, smaller flat panel. Versus the S23: same camera hardware as S23, refreshed design with flat sides, Galaxy AI software, brighter display.
Condition factors specific to the Galaxy S24
- AMOLED burn-in risk on heavy always-on display use — check on grey backgrounds
- Individual camera lens rings are exposed and a common impact point
- Aluminium frame edges show drop damage clearly
- Glass back is Gorilla Glass Victus 2 but still cracks on harder impacts
- Green-line OLED failures (a known Samsung pattern across recent flagships) are valued as panel-replacement deductions
Screen and casing
6.2-inch flat AMOLED. Genuine Samsung display assemblies are expensive because the panel, battery and frame are bonded — see our OLED damage guide for how this is graded.
Battery condition
Battery health on Samsung is checked via Samsung Members diagnostics. Cycle counts above ~800 generally move the device closer to a battery service. The 4,000mAh battery on the S24 is small for the platform; heavy users see more rapid degradation.
Cameras and biometrics
Triple rear: 50MP main + 12MP ultrawide + 10MP 3× telephoto. Front 12MP. All four should pass a quick test in the Camera app. Fingerprint sensor (under-display ultrasonic) and face unlock should both be confirmed working.
Charging port
USB-C with 25W wired charging support. Check the port for reliable charging — debris build-up is common.
Account & activation lock
Remove every Google account (Settings → Accounts and backup → Manage accounts → Google) and sign out of any Samsung account before factory resetting. Factory Reset Protection (FRP) survives a reset, so resetting first without signing out can lock the device into a Google login on first boot. We'll guide you through it at the counter if needed.
Read the activation lock guide →Network & IMEI status
Network-unlocked Galaxy handsets attract better offers because they appeal to a wider buyer pool. UK carriers must unlock free of charge on request. Every device is IMEI-checked against CheckMEND before purchase.
Box, charger and accessories
Shipped with a USB-C to USB-C cable, no charger. Original box with the S24's distinctive packaging supports the boxed-market offer.
Working S24 units in clean condition attract strong offers. Damaged units (cracked display, green-line OLED, broken back glass, charging port faults) are still valued; the offer reflects realistic refurb cost.
Before you request a valuation
- Remove every Google account and Samsung account
- Note any cycle-count or battery information from Samsung Members
- Confirm fingerprint and face unlock still work
- Test all three rear cameras
- Check network lock status
- Locate the original box, S Pen if relevant (not applicable to S24), and USB-C cable
