    Sell Your iPhone 13

The iPhone 13 launched in September 2021 as Apple's standard 6.1-inch flagship and is still one of the most commonly traded-in iPhones at our counter. We accept it in any colour, any storage size and any network status — working or damaged. This page covers what to check before requesting a valuation.

Tell us the model, storage and condition. Final offers depend on inspection and testing.

    Identify your iPhone 13

The iPhone 13 has a flat-edge stainless-steel-look aluminium frame and a 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR OLED display with a Face ID notch that's noticeably narrower than the iPhone 12's. On the back you'll find two camera lenses arranged diagonally (not stacked vertically as on the iPhone 12). Settings → General → About will show the exact model name and storage.

    • Display: 6.1-inch OLED, no ProMotion (60Hz)
    • Rear cameras: two lenses in a diagonal arrangement
    • Connector: Lightning
    • Original colours: Midnight, Starlight, Blue, Pink, (PRODUCT)RED, plus Green added in 2022
    • Confirm in Settings: Settings → General → About shows 'iPhone 13' and the storage size

    Storage variants accepted

    128GB256GB512GB

Apple offered the iPhone 13 in three storage tiers. Higher storage attracts a higher offer, particularly 256GB and 512GB, because second-hand demand for the larger sizes outstrips supply.

Where the iPhone 13 sits in its generation

The iPhone 13 was the standard model in the iPhone 13 line-up, sitting above the smaller 13 mini and below the 13 Pro and 13 Pro Max. It shares the A15 Bionic chip with the rest of the line and was the first standard iPhone to bring the diagonal rear-camera layout.

How the iPhone 13 compares to neighbouring models

Compared to the iPhone 13 mini, the iPhone 13 has the same internals but a larger 6.1-inch display and noticeably better battery life. Compared to the iPhone 13 Pro, it lacks the third telephoto camera, LiDAR, the ProMotion 120Hz display and the stainless steel frame — which is why Pro and Pro Max models continue to hold a higher resale value generation-for-generation.

Condition factors specific to the iPhone 13

    • Diagonal rear camera glass — check both lenses for chips or shattered cover glass
    • Aluminium chassis can pick up edge dings around the SIM-tray side
    • OLED panel can develop burn-in on heavy always-on / navigation use
    • Original-fit cases are common, so the body underneath is often in better condition than expected

    Screen and casing

6.1-inch Super Retina XDR OLED. Hairline scratches are common after years of use; deeper cracks or any pink/green bleed through the panel indicate OLED damage and require a full screen assembly replacement at resale.

    Battery condition

Check Settings → Battery → Battery Health & Charging. Above 85% is the comfortable range; below 80% triggers the 'Service' message and the offer reflects a battery service before resale. Aftermarket batteries display a 'Genuine Apple Battery cannot be verified' note and are priced accordingly.

    Cameras and biometrics

Dual 12MP wide + ultrawide rear cameras and a TrueDepth front camera for Face ID. Confirm Face ID still enrols (Settings → Face ID & Passcode) — a failed Face ID module materially affects the offer.

    Charging port

Lightning port — lint build-up is common and can be cleaned. Persistent slow charging or intermittent connection after a clean indicates port wear and is factored into the offer.

    Account & activation lock

Activation Lock must be removed before a full-value sale. Sign out of iCloud (Settings → your name → Sign Out) and disable Find My iPhone, then optionally factory reset via Settings → General → Transfer or Reset iPhone. A locked device can only be valued for parts.

Read the activation lock guide →

    Network & IMEI status

Network-unlocked handsets typically attract better offers than carrier-locked equivalents because the buyer pool is wider. UK carriers (EE, O2, Vodafone, Three, Tesco Mobile) are required to unlock free of charge on request. Every device is IMEI-checked against the CheckMEND database before purchase.

    Box, charger and accessories

The iPhone 13 originally shipped without a power adapter — just a Lightning to USB-C cable and documentation. A complete original box with the cable adds modest value, particularly on the sealed/boxed market. Cases, screen protectors and MagSafe accessories are nice-to-have but not material to the offer.

Working devices in clean cosmetic condition attract the strongest offers. Damaged iPhone 13s — cracked screens, back-glass damage, Face ID faults, battery service warnings — are still valued; the offer reflects the realistic refurb or parts cost.

    Before you request a valuation

    • Sign out of iCloud and disable Find My iPhone
    • Note the current Battery Health % from Settings → Battery
    • Check network lock status — message your carrier if it needs unlocking
    • Locate the box and Lightning cable if you have them
    • Take clear photos of the front, back, both sides and the camera glass
    • Confirm the storage size in Settings → General → About
