Why the type of crack matters
On a modern phone the front glass and the OLED panel are bonded together — replacing either means replacing both. That makes the labour cost the same regardless of whether the crack is cosmetic or catastrophic. What we're really pricing is the rest of the phone underneath the broken display.
Damage we grade differently
These categories tend to land in different price brackets. The first three usually retain meaningful value; the last three can push the offer towards parts-only territory.
- Hairline crack with full image and touch — best case
- Spider-web crack with image working and touch responsive
- Cracked glass with isolated dead touch zones
- OLED bleeding — pink, green or black blooming patches
- Vertical or horizontal lines across the panel
- Black/unresponsive panel with cracked glass
Should you repair before selling?
Usually no. A third-party repair often shows up in software as 'Unknown Part' (iOS) or with disabled features (Samsung), which can reduce the offer enough to wipe out the cost of the repair. Bring the phone in as it is and we'll do the maths with you.
