Sell Your Samsung Galaxy Z Fold6
The Galaxy Z Fold6 (July 2024) is Samsung's sixth-generation book-style foldable — slightly thinner and lighter than the Fold5, with a more refined hinge, a brighter inner display and the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for Galaxy chip. Foldables of this size are among the most expensive consumer devices Samsung sells, and resale value reflects that.
Tell us the model, storage and condition. Final offers depend on inspection and testing.
Identify your Galaxy Z Fold6
Opens like a book to a 7.6-inch flexible inner display, with a 6.3-inch cover display on the outside. Aluminium frame with a more squared-off design than the Fold5. Settings → About phone confirms 'Galaxy Z Fold6'.
- Inner display: 7.6-inch flexible Dynamic AMOLED 2X, 120Hz
- Cover display: 6.3-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X, 120Hz
- Form factor: book-style foldable, opens flat
- Chipset: Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for Galaxy
- RAM: 12GB
- S Pen support: Yes, but the S Pen is sold separately (it does not slot into the device)
Storage variants accepted
Three storage tiers. The 512GB tier is the strongest second-hand seller; 1TB units attract a niche premium.
Where the Galaxy Z Fold6 sits in its generation
Sixth-generation book-style foldable. Hinge mechanism is more refined than earlier generations, with reduced gap when closed. Multi-window and DeX support make it a productivity-oriented device, which shapes its used-market audience.
How the Galaxy Z Fold6 compares to neighbouring models
Versus the Fold5: thinner, lighter, more squared-off, brighter displays, faster chip. Versus the Z Flip6: book-style vs clamshell; much larger inner display, significantly heavier, considerably higher repair costs. Versus the Z Fold7: Fold7 brought further weight reduction and design refinements.
Condition factors specific to the Galaxy Z Fold6
- Hinge condition — book-style hinges are larger and more complex than clamshell; check 90° tension, debris and any gap when closed
- Inner-display film — bubbling, peeling, dead lines along the crease are panel-replacement deductions
- S Pen damage on the inner display (if used without an S Pen designed for the Fold) can scratch or puncture the flexible panel
- Cover display glass is the same size as a regular phone — chips and cracks are common
- Inner-display replacement on a Fold is one of the most expensive consumer-phone repairs
Screen and casing
Inner 7.6-inch flexible AMOLED — the highest-cost component to replace in the Samsung line. Cover 6.3-inch AMOLED is its own assembly. See our foldables guide for how these are graded at resale.
Battery condition
4,400mAh dual-cell battery. Foldable batteries split across the two halves; replacement is workshop-level. Disclose any swelling or rear-glass lifting around the hinge.
Cameras and biometrics
Triple rear: 50MP main + 12MP ultrawide + 10MP 3× telephoto. Inner under-display camera (4MP — visually low-resolution and intentionally hidden under the panel). Cover camera is 10MP. Test all lenses in the Camera app.
Charging port
USB-C, 25W wired charging. Check the port for reliable charging.
Account & activation lock
Remove every Google account (Settings → Accounts and backup → Manage accounts → Google) and sign out of any Samsung account before factory resetting. Factory Reset Protection (FRP) survives a reset, so resetting first without signing out can lock the device into a Google login on first boot. We'll guide you through it at the counter if needed.
Read the activation lock guide →Network & IMEI status
Network-unlocked Galaxy handsets attract better offers because they appeal to a wider buyer pool. UK carriers must unlock free of charge on request. Every device is IMEI-checked against CheckMEND before purchase.
Box, charger and accessories
Shipped with a USB-C to USB-C cable, no charger, no S Pen (sold separately). Original Fold-line box is distinct and helps the offer; bring the S Pen if you have a compatible one.
Working Fold6 units are valuable but command a narrower second-hand audience than slab phones. Damaged units are still valued — the offer reflects the high repair cost. Don't attempt to repair a Fold hinge yourself.
Before you request a valuation
- Remove every Google account and Samsung account
- Demonstrate hinge opening and closing slowly; note any tension issues
- Inspect the inner display under angled light for film bubbling or scratches
- Test inner under-display camera and cover camera separately
- Confirm network lock status
- Locate the Fold-line original box, any S Pen and original case
