Sell Your Samsung Galaxy Z Flip6
The Galaxy Z Flip6 (July 2024) was Samsung's clamshell foldable upgrade that finally moved the line to 12GB RAM, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for Galaxy chip and a larger 4,000mAh battery. It remains one of the most actively traded foldables on the second-hand market.
Tell us the model, storage and condition. Final offers depend on inspection and testing.
Identify your Galaxy Z Flip6
Folds in half horizontally. 3.4-inch cover display on the outside (same size as Flip5), 6.7-inch flexible inner AMOLED. Squared-off frame compared to the Flip5's curved edges. Settings → About phone confirms 'Galaxy Z Flip6'.
- Inner display: 6.7-inch flexible AMOLED, 120Hz
- Cover display: 3.4-inch Super AMOLED
- Form factor: clamshell foldable, squared-off frame
- Chipset: Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for Galaxy (global)
- RAM: 12GB (Flip5 had 8GB)
- Battery: 4,000mAh (Flip5 had 3,700mAh)
Storage variants accepted
Two storage tiers. The Flip6 dropped the 128GB option that earlier Flips offered. Both tiers attract similar second-hand demand.
Where the Galaxy Z Flip6 sits in its generation
The sixth generation of the clamshell Z Flip line and a meaningful spec uplift over the Flip5. Hinge is improved over earlier generations, and the cover display gained more native widget support.
How the Galaxy Z Flip6 compares to neighbouring models
Versus the Flip5: more RAM, faster chip, larger battery, brighter inner display, squared-off design, improved camera. Versus the Z Fold6: clamshell form factor (folds in half) vs book-style (opens to tablet); smaller, lighter, much cheaper. Versus the Flip7: Flip7 added a larger cover display and a slimmer folded profile.
Condition factors specific to the Galaxy Z Flip6
- Hinge condition is the single biggest deduction factor — check tension at 90°, snap when closing, and any debris in the mechanism
- Inner-display protective film — bubbling, peeling or marks along the crease are a panel-replacement deduction
- Crease itself is normal wear and expected; it doesn't reduce the offer on its own
- Cover display glass is exposed when folded — chips are visible immediately
- Foldable repair costs are among the highest in the Samsung range
Screen and casing
Inner 6.7-inch flexible AMOLED is the highest-cost component to replace. The protective film on top is part of the panel assembly. Cover 3.4-inch AMOLED is its own assembly. See our foldables guide for how this is graded.
Battery condition
4,000mAh dual-cell battery. Cycle counts and any signs of swelling around the hinge area should be disclosed. Foldable batteries are split across the two halves and replacement is a workshop job.
Cameras and biometrics
50MP main + 12MP ultrawide on the outside; 10MP inner selfie camera. Cover display can serve as the viewfinder for the rear cameras. All lenses should pass a Camera-app test.
Charging port
USB-C, 25W wired charging. Check the port for reliable charging.
Account & activation lock
Remove every Google account (Settings → Accounts and backup → Manage accounts → Google) and sign out of any Samsung account before factory resetting. Factory Reset Protection (FRP) survives a reset, so resetting first without signing out can lock the device into a Google login on first boot. We'll guide you through it at the counter if needed.
Read the activation lock guide →Network & IMEI status
Network-unlocked Galaxy handsets attract better offers because they appeal to a wider buyer pool. UK carriers must unlock free of charge on request. Every device is IMEI-checked against CheckMEND before purchase.
Box, charger and accessories
Shipped with a USB-C to USB-C cable, no charger. Original box (compact clamshell-style) helps the offer; case if included supports it further.
Working Flip6 units have steady demand. Damaged units (hinge play, inner-display issues, cover screen damage) are still valued; the offer reflects the realistic foldable repair cost. Don't try to repair a foldable hinge yourself before bringing it in.
Before you request a valuation
- Remove every Google account and Samsung account
- Open and close the Flip slowly to demonstrate hinge tension
- Note any inner-film bubbling, peeling or dead lines along the crease
- Test cover display widgets and rear-camera preview on cover
- Confirm network lock status
- Locate the original Flip box if you have it
